Back-to-school/Holiday

Hey Flynn family!

First of all, we really miss you. It feels weird that Hudson hasn't been coming over each night. Second of all, IT IS REALLY HOT!! It is 31˚C or 87˚F. We started back at school this week.

I (Hana) had my first Spanish lesson in a year on Monday. It was really easy. All that we've done is learn the alphabet. I had heats for Athletics Day today and that was really annoying because there was hardly any shade and I don't really love athletics.

I (Xanthe) made some new friends because there are a lot of new girls in my class and all of them are really nice. I've been enjoying P.E because we've been using the pool. We have started Spanish as well. My new teacher is really nice and she's fun.

My (Ginnie) week has been crazy busy, with too many emails and not enough teaching. We sadly had to go to my mother's funeral in Wellington which is at the bottom of the North Island. Hana sang which was lovely but Xanthe didn't want to go. It was a great send off and exactly what she had planned.

Greg has had to do parent-teacher interviews and he is bummed because he has to wear a tie. Here's a photo of Xanthe and I (Hana) on our first day back.

This weekend, we are travelling to Tekapo with another family. There's a beautiful lake there. It is Waitangi Day on Monday, which the day that the Treaty of Waitangi was signed by the Indigenous people and the British. The problem was that they both thought that they were signing up to different things. But we get Monday off school so we think it's great.

Hoping you're having a great week
